Now view the advice and make changes accordingly. In the example above, Optim Query<br />

Tuner recommends that you update statistics. This can be run directly from OQT. You<br />

might need certain permissions from the DBA to run these statistics.<br />

5.4 Comparing performance results after optimizing your application<br />

Once you have made modifications either directly to your application or to your database in<br />

order to boost performance, you can re-run your application while gathering performance<br />

metrics and compare the new metrics gathered with the older ones prior to optimization.<br />

Save your current performance metrics by clicking on the Save Current Performance Data<br />

button and enter a name to describe the metric values, then click OK as shown in Figure<br />

5.7.
