Making a<br />

Christmas wreath<br />

Materials needed: Wire ring, moss, mossing wire or string,<br />

pine, blue spruce, ivy, other materials such as eucalyptus or<br />

pheasant or peacock feathers, ribbon<br />

Step 1: Attach your string to the wire<br />

ring, leaving the rest on the spool.<br />

Step 2: Grab clumps of the moss and<br />

dip them in water to dampen, then apply<br />

to the ring, attaching with the string<br />

by wrapping the string around the wire<br />

frame and the clumps of moss. Build<br />

up evenly so that you end up with<br />

a ring of moss.<br />

Step 3: Now start attaching a base<br />

layer of the blue spruce. Follow the same<br />

direction as you add each piece of spruce<br />

to maintain an even, balanced look.<br />

Introduce different greenery and carry on<br />

in the same direction aiming for an even,<br />

full looking wreath.<br />

Step 4: Add additional materials such as<br />

feathers, beads or baubles using florist’s<br />

wire pushed through to the back of the<br />

wreath. Twist this wire around part of a<br />

blue spruce stem to secure. Your string<br />

should now be cut and tied to a secure<br />

point or stem on the back of the wreath.<br />

Attach your ribbon with or without a<br />

bow to the wreath and your gorgeous<br />

creation is ready to hang.<br />
