in Kent & East Sussex
Vinehall Nursery School for children from 2 years old is situated in a purposebuilt
department and set within beautiful countryside. Vinehall is easily located
on the A21, just south of Robertsbridge, near Battle and close to the border
between Kent and East Sussex.
As part of Vinehall, an independent prep school,
the Nursery offers quality care, an excellent
education and a wide range of opportunities
for all children. There are small classes with a
generous ratio of adults to children, who care for
and foster the children’s learning and confidence
in all areas.
The facilities are outstanding; classrooms
are well resourced, light and spacious with
ready access to the outdoors. In the Nursery,
an airy space for creative activities opens on
to the outdoor play area which has recently
been developed to include additional
investigation and imaginary play areas as well
as woodland learning facilities for the children
to explore. The Nursery has been described
by ISI Inspectors as an ‘outstanding example
of education for this age’.
An enthusiasm for learning is encouraged
through stimulating and creative experiences.
A wide variety of sport, music and drama is on
offer, but there is much more besides. Highlights
of a typical year include nature rambles and
picnics, concerts and plays, charity events,
an Arts Festival, visiting performers and a
traditional Sports Day.
Vinehall Nursery is recognised as providing
a nurturing family environment which promotes
a happy and caring atmosphere. Many children
attend our playground, Little Vines, which
helps to imbed a positive start to a child’s
time at Vinehall. The children settle quickly,
they are enthusiastic and very happy. Strong
partnerships are encouraged with parents with
daily communication and interaction through
initiatives such as our ‘Puzzle it Out’ traditional
games sessions every week. The Nursery is
attached to Vinehall Prep School (up to 13
years). The children take the next steps in their
stride; our Reception Classes are just across the
corridor from the Nursery which ensures the
children are very familiar with ‘big school’ and
move on confidently.
Teaching staff have high expectations for
the children’s behaviour and encourage each
individual child to be the best that they can be.

Early morning care is provided through our
Breakfast Club. We also have a wide variety
of enrichment activities such as gymnastics,
football, Spanish and Drama. After School care
is also available which includes a cooked meal
for those children with working parents.
To make life even easier a comprehensive mini
bus service is available both to and from school.
The buses cover an extensive area over Kent and
Sussex and children from the age of 2 are able to
make use of this service. Children attend from a
wide area including; Heathfield, Tunbridge Wells,
Ticehurst, Wadhurst and surrounding villages as
well as Tenterden, Hawkhurst, Cranbrook, Rye
and Camber.
Nursery and Kindergarten operates a session
by session system making it simple for parents
to book what works best. Additionally funding
is offered for Early Years children.
We are currently registering places for September 2016
in our Nursery and Reception Classes and offer ‘taster
sessions’ for the children in readiness for September.
