5.6.4. Results by the end of 2007<br />

The expected results of the promotion activities in Greece regard the:<br />

• Networking with stakeholders of the Greek market. This will be a first substantial<br />

step towards the promotion of the <strong>Ecolabel</strong> in the specific target sectors. Gaining<br />

the support of the stakeholders will open the way to convince the manufacturers<br />

to apply.<br />

• Recognition of the <strong>Ecolabel</strong> benefits by the manufacturers and stakeholders and<br />

acknowledgement of the <strong>EU</strong> <strong>Ecolabel</strong> benefits.<br />

• Acquisition of companies. The target of acquiring up to five (5) companies both in<br />

Cyprus and Greece, as convincing them to apply <strong>for</strong> the <strong>Ecolabel</strong> during the<br />

contracting period is a very difficult target. A lot of work is needed to persuade<br />

the decision makers of the companies that the Flower is an advantage <strong>for</strong> the<br />

promotion of their products. The major target is to clarify that the requirements<br />

and the application process are not so demanding to deter them to apply.<br />

5.6.5. Conclusion <strong>for</strong> 2008<br />

According with the <strong>Ecolabel</strong> situation in Greece and the interest of some companies in the<br />

relevant sectors were acquisition activities took place in 2006 and 2007, in 2008 we are<br />

expecting mainly declaration of interest, and there are possibilities <strong>for</strong> applications, with<br />

most possible the 2006 product groups.<br />
