and something like a fox scouting for mice
in the corner: shy
and auburn, it's the secret animal
I reckon from a childhood
resurrexit;
and why would there not
be weather, some
event like wind, or rain,
from thirty years ago?
The fox turns in the light with something slender
caught between its jaws and no one knows
for certain what it is: the one rule, here,
that on one leaves until the creaturely
in everything is sifted from the skin
to mark the cure, the rollright iin the mind.
OV: thank you
JB: that's more about rehab than animals, I suppose.
OV: well that's one of the interesting things, that these animals keep occurring. They
are sometimes slightly human, sometimes not -
JB: well, it's what we were talking about earlier in the way in which we project into the
natural world, our own ideas, myths, fantasies, whatever. There's so few animals left, in a
