Peach Pie Contest Sponsored by Gulick's Farm<br />

1. <strong>The</strong> contest is open to any individual who is a Northampton County resident.<br />

2. Entry must be a pie that includes at least 60% peaches in the filling. It<br />

does not need to be a 2 crusted peach pie <strong>and</strong> it can have a variety of fillings.<br />

3. <strong>The</strong> entire pie must be submitted in a disposable pie pan. If your<br />

own baking dish is used, the Farm Show will not be responsible for any<br />

damages. Also, all pie plates must be picked up by the first Tuesday after<br />

Labor Day or they will become the property of <strong>The</strong> Blue Valley Farm Show.<br />

4. Recipe must be submitted for the pie <strong>and</strong> the pie crust with the entry,<br />

printed on one side of an 81/2" x 11" paper. Recipe must list all ingredients,<br />

quantities <strong>and</strong> the preparation instructions. Entrants name, address, <strong>and</strong><br />

phone number must be printed on the back side of all the pages.<br />

5. Refrigeration is not available at the Farm Show. Entries that require<br />

refrigeration after baking must indicate so in the recipe. Those entries<br />

will not be sold, auctioned, or distributed for consumption after judging<br />

for food safety reasons.<br />

6. Judging will be based on the following criteria:<br />

Flavor<br />

30 points<br />

Filling: consistency, doneness, moistness & flavor 25 Points<br />

Crust: Color, flavor, texture, doneness<br />

20 Points<br />

Overall Appearance<br />

15 Points<br />

Creativity<br />

10 Points<br />

“Olde Time Fun” Children’s Activities at the Stroud Mansion<br />

<strong>The</strong> Monroe County Historical<br />

Association will host the 7th Annual<br />

Olde Time Fun children’s activities on<br />

Saturday, September 5th from 1:00<br />

PM until 5:00 PM in the backyard<br />

of the Stroud Mansion, 900 Main<br />

Street, Stroudsburg, PA. This event will<br />

coincide with StroudFest in downtown<br />

Stroudsburg <strong>and</strong> will celebrate<br />

Historical Association volunteer Irma<br />

Stroudsburg’s bicentennial. <strong>The</strong><br />

Monroe County Historical Association visitors h<strong>and</strong> at the face-painting<br />

station during the Old Time Fun event.<br />

will also hold an Open House with free<br />

tours of the historic 1795 Stroud Mansion in conjunction with the Olde<br />

Time Fun event. Various activity stations featuring historic games <strong>and</strong><br />

crafts for children will be located in the backyard. New this year, a childfriendly<br />

walking tour brochure will be distributed so families can explore<br />

downtown Stroudsburg <strong>and</strong> discover the boroughs local history <strong>and</strong><br />

interesting architecture. Adding to the festivities of the day, members of the<br />

Pocono Dulcimer Club will perform traditional songs <strong>and</strong> tunes. In the event<br />

of inclement weather, Olde Time Fun will be moved indoors. <strong>The</strong> Olde Time<br />

Fun is free <strong>and</strong> open to the public. Donations are greatly appreciated. For<br />
