The Society of <strong>Architectural</strong> Historians (SAH)<br />
will celebrate its 75th anniversary at this conference,<br />
which includes lectures, round-table<br />
discussions, and 36 paper sessions covering<br />
topics in architecture, art and architectural<br />
history, preservation, landscape architecture,<br />
and the built environment. SAH is committed<br />
to engaging conference attendees with public<br />
programming that includes more than 30<br />
architectural tours, a plenary talk, and a halfday<br />
seminar addressing Chicago’s waterways<br />

Gabriela Rendón: Social Property and<br />
the Urgency of a New Urban Practice<br />

In this lecture at the School of Visual Arts,<br />
architect and urban planner Gabriela Rendón<br />
will present the notion of social and spatial<br />
justice, drawing examples from the urban<br />
interventions and research done by<br />
Cohabitation Strategies (CohStra), the nonprofit<br />
cooperative for socio-spatial research,<br />
design, and development she cofounded in<br />
2008. With operation centers in cities across<br />
Europe and North and South America, the<br />
cooperative aims to understand the agents<br />
affecting urban areas and provide crossdisciplinary<br />
frameworks to catalyze<br />
