THE PATIOS HAVE PATIOS From the living
room (above), the view west to the mountains
is framed by the receding composition of
reinforced-concrete floor slabs and posttensioned
beams. The open-air courtyard (top,
right) is surrounded on the upper level by a
precast concrete screen that filters sunlight into
the corridors leading to the bedrooms and other
family spaces (right). On the roof, 83 square feet
of solar panels (not shown) help supply energy
for the house’s radiant floors and hot water.
