The Presidents report<br />
Hello from the new President to<br />
our magnificent Mercedes-<br />
Benz Club of NSW as elected at our<br />
last meeting on January 20th. It has<br />
been 14 years since l have written a<br />
Presidents report, so I am delighted<br />
to be the newly elected president<br />
once more and I look forward to<br />
doing a great job for the Club with<br />
the new Executive committee. These<br />
positions are held by:<br />
Vice presidents:<br />
Dennis Dinse & John Assarapin.<br />
Secretary: Ken Pitman<br />
Treasurer: George Timothy<br />
Executive committee:<br />
Mike Fleming, Vince Thompson and<br />
Simon Strauss.<br />
Vince Thompson, our outgoing<br />
president, had the Club at heart<br />
and has worked tirelessly on it for<br />
many years, even hosting Executive<br />
Committee meetings at his home!<br />
Therefore, on behalf of the Club and<br />
myself I would sincerely like to thank<br />
you Vince for your efforts and we<br />
look forward to working with you as<br />
an Executive Committee member to<br />
make the Club better this year.<br />
Another part of the Club needing<br />
attention is the Model Advisers, so l<br />
am pleased to appoint John Linders<br />
to manage this area. He will guide<br />
the group, communicate with Club<br />
Members and work with the events<br />
and social committees.<br />
Over recent years the Club has had<br />
some difficult times which are now<br />
starting to settle. We have different<br />
personalities and no-one is perfect,<br />
so please let us all embrace this and<br />
work together to support our great<br />
Car Club and make it better - as we<br />
are the custodians of the Mercedes-<br />
Benz brand.<br />
Executive Committee<br />
Congratulations to all the duly<br />
elected members filling these<br />
important positions and thank you,<br />
to our club members, for voting<br />
accordingly and to making it a big<br />
night to remember at the Barnwell<br />
Golf Club.<br />
I would like to extend my sincere<br />
thanks to the outgoing Executive<br />
Committee for all their hard work in<br />
keeping the Club in smooth running<br />
order. I must make special mention<br />
of Nick Harris the SGA events<br />
director, who will continue to provide<br />
excellent work on new functions for<br />
<strong>2016</strong>.<br />
Membership<br />
My pet hate over recent years has<br />
been the low Membership numbers,<br />
so we must all help to improve them<br />
and put the Club back where it was. I<br />
am sure that we all know Mercedes-<br />
Benz owners who are not Club<br />
Members yet, so please join them up<br />
and let us all make them welcome.<br />
All of us need to chip in and take on<br />
a job, however small it may be, this<br />
will help our Club run much better,<br />
without overworking the few who<br />
do this now. Please trust me this is<br />
a rewarding experience and l have<br />
given the Club a lot over the years. In<br />
return I have made many friends, with<br />
a lot of camaraderie with Mercedes-<br />
Benz owners and their cars, which<br />
has been so special. The MBCNSW<br />
is moving forward to aggressively<br />
attract new members and thank Bill<br />
