THOMAS CHURCHES OF INNER INDIA<br />

Both the Acta Thomae, and the local Malankara traditions agree<br />

on the date and details of the Arrival and the Ministry of St.<br />

Thomas. Acta Thomae was written in 220 AD by a Gnostic<br />

writer. The details indicate that Thomas did establish <strong>Christian</strong><br />

Churches all along his route – these came to be known as Indian<br />

Catholic Church which when translated becomes Hindu<br />

Sanadhana Dharma. Early documents indicate that there were<br />

severe persecutions to this church as they were being taken over<br />

by the Gnostics of Persia (of Aryan Origin). However, these<br />

centers became centers for theological studies out of which grew<br />

the Hindu Revival Philosophies – Advaita of Sankara, Visishta<br />

Advaita of Ramanuja, Davaita of Madhva, DvaitaAdvaita of<br />

Nimbarka, Shudda Advaita of Vallabha, AcintyaBhedabheda of<br />

Caitanya, Baladeva of Gaudiya Vaishanva siddhanta and many<br />

others. It is surprising that centers of these eminent schools all<br />

fall along the route that Thomas took.<br />

There are twelve Jyotir Lingas where the glorious form of the<br />

formless Siva is situated in India. There is a high density of<br />

these worship centers around the area of Takshasila, where
