Dr. Phillips Commended<br />
by Town of <strong>Millis</strong><br />
On April 11 th , the Board of<br />
Selectmen from the town of <strong>Millis</strong><br />
presented a commendation to<br />
Dr. Nicholas Phillips for his generous<br />
service to the town. Acting<br />
as Town Physician for the past<br />
twenty-five years, Dr. Phillips has<br />
provided medical counsel to the<br />
town. He has assisted the Board<br />
of Health by signing standing<br />
medical orders and emergency<br />
treatment orders, a service which<br />
has allowed the public health<br />
nurse to purchase flu vaccine<br />
and supplies and to administer<br />
vaccine to town residents.<br />
Dr. Phillips has practiced<br />
family medicine in <strong>Millis</strong> for the<br />
past 25 years. He is retiring from<br />
this position and will teach osteopathy<br />
at the University of New<br />
England Medical School in Biddeford,<br />
Maine.<br />
Church of Christ, <strong>Millis</strong> to<br />
Host a Special Piano Recital<br />
The Church of Christ, Congregational,<br />
142 Exchange St.,<br />
<strong>Millis</strong> will host a piano recital on<br />
Sunday, <strong>May</strong> 8 at 4 p.m., featuring<br />
Robert Congdon performing<br />
a beautiful collection of works by<br />
Prokofiev, Mozart and Schubert.<br />
A reception and refreshments<br />
will follow the recital. There is<br />
no admission fee for the concert;<br />
goodwill offerings gratefully accepted.<br />

Robert Congdon grew up in<br />
<strong>Millis</strong>, and has been studying<br />
and performing piano for over 40<br />
years. After working with Myrna<br />
Rybczyk of <strong>Millis</strong>, Mr. Congdon<br />
went on to study in the New<br />
England Conservatory of Music<br />
Preparatory program. He also<br />
studied with the late Olga Stone<br />
at Boston College and with Jean<br />
Alderman of Wellesley College,<br />
and he worked with Carlo Dominici<br />
in Rome, Italy for many<br />
years. He is presently enrolled in<br />
the New England Conservatory<br />
Professional Studies Certificate<br />
program with Sergey Shepkin,<br />
and he participates in the Piano<br />
Performance and Interpretation<br />
Seminar with Ya-Fei Chuang.<br />
