Race 4 Selections by Chad Rozema
THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
5 JOELS LEGACY made his debut on Canadian soil and in the Mike Weller outfit last week which ended with a 9 th place result. I’m hoping another
week in his new surroundings can have him set to perform better this week. He keeps Henry in the sulky and from a better post to work from he
should be positioned closer early. I will give him a shot for a barn that can’t be overlooked.
7 WINDSUN CHEYENNE exits his first start in more than 13 months and I would expect the connections were more than pleased with his 4 th place
effort. Saftic kept him protected along the pylons before letting him pace down the stretch where he passed a couple rivals. He’s missed big chunks
of time on more than one occasion in his career which is a concern but hopefully he stays together and can challenge for the Exactor.
10 MARACASSO draws post 10 for his first start in more than two months but Isaac Waxman taking over is an angle that will demand respect. He
broke his maiden over this oval and could get the green light from the extreme outside. Post 10 should provide an inflated price and I’m willing to
give him a shot to hit the board.
6 LIGHT FOOT RD switched up tactics last week after charging to the front and managing to stay for show honors. He draws another ideal post and
it gives McNair a good vantage point to see what others are doing before making his move. He was a consistent threat at this level in April and can’t
be discounted.
WORTH A LOOK
(2) HOME JAMES showed some interest behind horses last week in the stretch but passed just one rival. A closer start could move him up the
board.
(3) THREE TRUTHS carries a claiming tag for the initial time as he tries to right the ship and get back to some positive results. He’s performed
much better at times this season including a good showing in all three phases of the Count B Series. He could turn it around tonight.
(8) REGAL FAME raced great on the front here two back but was stuck behind foes in his latest. He’s typically involved early and shouldn’t be
counted out.
