THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
6 BACK YARD BABY has gradually showed better over her past two outings and hopefully that trend continues tonight. The 8yo earns another
drop in class which could be coming at a great time as her confidence is starting to return. Both wins this season have come when she was
forwardly placed so look for Waples to give her the green light early. She lands on top for me.
2 SHADYS M THREE posted fast closing quarters in her first two April attempts but she came up empty last week when it would have been useful.
The move inside tonight could keep her more interested and a return to her recent solid form will have her back in play. She’s tough to back for top
honors due to the winless mark this season but she’s capable of doing some damage when on her game.
10 DONNA PARTY put up a swift three quarter mark in her latest but she couldn’t quite finish the deal after settling for 2 nd . That’s now a pair of
runner-up efforts to go with her two 9 th place finishes here since joining Mike Weller. Only a pair inside of her show early speed and Henry shouldn’t
have many issues getting her near the front from out here. She could be close if the trip works out.
7 JUSTABIT MEAN is back down in class after two tries up a level and she was a winner versus similar three back. She’s been finishing well in
recent weeks and will be one to keep an eye on down the lane tonight. I’m not confident the pace will be hot but if she grabs some decent flow, she
can be in the mix for the tickets.
WORTH A LOOK
(1) MOREMUNKYBUSINESS spiced up the exotics with a closing 3 rd place finish last week giving her four straight contests where she was defeated
less than two lengths. The 5yo remains winless on the year but her recent form could make her a useful option for the tickets.
(3) ST LADS PENNY LANE hasn’t had much to celebrate so far this year and she’s simply not racing up to her full potential. She can be dangerous
from a helmet so look for Saftic to change things up tonight.
(5) CALL IT COURAGE closed a few spots in the stretch last time but needed more real estate. The improved post could see her get off to a better
start which can land her in the top 4.
(8) ARRIVISTA HANOVER lost her cover last time and the first over journey took its toll as she faded to 9 th . Some recent good showings in this
class force me to keep her in mind for the exotics.
