THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
1 BURNIN MONEY plummets in class as he tries to get back to his old self and visit the winner’s circle. He was expected to win three back when
racing at a level just above this but he couldn’t do enough off cover. He’s slumped before and Auciello has been able to get him on track; I’m just
hoping this is one of those occasions. I will give him the nod but others should be considered for the multi-leg wagers.
8 ODDS ON AMETHYST doubled his asking price in his latest but found the company too tough as he backed away after showing early speed. The
top two from his most recent came back to form the Exactor in Monday’s Preferred, giving an idea of the strength of competition he was facing. The
1:52 career winner isn’t the performer he once was but if Henriksen can keep him together he should be effective in this class.
6 DUH BUBBEES provided the early speed in his latest outing and the 4yo hung tough to finish 3 rd in his second start of the year. Another step in
the right direction could have this guy back contending for a top prize. He’s going to get a closer look from the bettors tonight and is one that should
be considered for the tickets.
5 BAMBINO HALL makes his WEG circuit debut this evening after shipping from sunny Florida. He moves to the Jason Ryan stable for his start
north and this barn sent out a recent upset winner here. The 8yo boasts tons of back class and rather consistent form this year despite going
winless. He draws well and can crack the top 4.
WORTH A LOOK
(3) INCREDITABLE also ships in from Florida where he’s won 2 of his past 4 outings. The 7yo is equipped with early speed and could hang around
for a minor share in his WEG debut.
(4) POWER MOVE finished a respectable 4 th at this level last week and in good time. He should be tighter second time back after a month away
and I could use him on the bottom of the tickets.
(7) MUSICAL SPELL faced much tougher in his latest and from well on the outside which didn’t result in a good finish. He finished in the top 4 in
each of his previous three tries at this level and can’t be ignored.
(9) HUBBY NUMBER ONE has tackled tougher the past two months and he should appreciate the drop down. His last win was versus similar and
he has some upside despite the tough draw.
(10) RAMAS LAST SON exits the Don Mills where he was no match for the streaking Musical Rhythm. This barn can have him ready to contend
and he’s shown good off the pace qualities in the past.
