Design: The ability to<br />

lightweight panels in complex<br />

shapes is an important<br />

Installation: Perforated<br />

panelling is light but not fragile<br />

therefore making installation<br />

easier, safer and consequently<br />

cost effective.<br />

Vandalism prevention: Due<br />

to its strong durable nature,<br />

perforated metal is resistant to<br />

vandalism. Where Graffiti is<br />

a problem, perforated panels<br />

are less likely to be targeted,<br />

especially with perforations of<br />

high open area.<br />

Maintenance: Perforated<br />

panels don’t show dirt in the<br />

same way that glass does and<br />

therefore maintenance costs<br />

and upkeep are reduced.<br />

Perforated metal shades the<br />

sun and eliminates greenhouse<br />

effect<br />

Weather resistance:<br />

Perforated panels are excellent<br />

at shielding against adverse<br />

weather conditions without<br />

stopping the airflow. The holes<br />

create localised turbulence<br />

as the air passes around the<br />

individual perforations, causing<br />

a substantial decrease in<br />

wind velocity. Consequently<br />

a more gentle air flow passes<br />

through the building in stormy<br />

conditions helping prevent rain<br />

from travelling sideways. Thus<br />

the building is comfortable<br />

enough to allow people to<br />

shelter without creating an<br />

environment for loitering or<br />

anti-social activities. Unlike solid<br />

materials perforated metal clad<br />

buildings cut down turbulence<br />

by virtue of their porous nature.
