Locally I am known as a Rhodesian Aussie
who once farmed in Zimbabwe where
I had four thousand acres with three
hundred acres of irrigation and a herd of
300 Brahmans. The current government
laid claim to everything that I had there.
Despite the fact that I got Polio at the age
of three and was left with a disabled right
leg. I immigrated to Australia to start again
with my family of four children, fourteen
grandchildren and to be eleven great
grandchildren. Australia is our home and
a number of my children have obtained
degrees such as Engineering, Architecture,
Teaching and Industrial design plus others.
I have taken up the challenge of doing
what I enjoy and that is breeding cattle.
Currently Brahman and Charbrays. I am
absolutely overwhelmed with the assistance
and support that I have received from local
cattle breeders of both breeds. My goal

is to breed Charbrays that are plus minus
55% Brahman and 45% Charolais. We have
showed our cattle and have received many
championships but currently not showing
anymore as I broke my disabled leg in two
places whilst in the cattle paddock last year
in March, and that has prevented me from
walking. By nature I am a perfectionist and
my breeding program is enhanced with
that attitude. I will be turning seventy six in
eleven days’ time and that does not stop
me operating the cattle crush etc. from
my mobility scooter. My bulls are grown
up in the paddock and are supplementary
fed only to enable them to get to work
whenever needed too, and the bar that I
set of fertility and temperament is extremely
high. I look forward to the results of my
first lot of bulls being sold on the annual
Charbray bull sale. The purchaser will be
purchasing quality.
