Tunas Charbrays evolved with the acquisition
of some old (some very old) Colinta cows that
were past their use-by-date and destined for
slaughter. The group included a number of
great cows with stellar show-ring backgrounds
– some went on to rear calves.
Most of the Tunas production is sold
commercially however a small number of

stud bulls and females are sold annually into
Queensland and NSW.
Tunas females are feminine but robust and
bulls are selected for growth performance and
volume, with sufficient bone to be of benefit to
northern commercial breeders with a high Bos
indicus content.
