2016 Alabama State Nurses Association Annual Convention CONVENTION GOALS/Outcome Measures 1. Explore at least two methods that nurses can utilize to be more proactive in the community at large. 2. Examine research conducted by Alabama nurses that can make a positive change in health care for Alabama citizens. 3. Network with colleagues and exchange ideas that can improve own practice of nursing. GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR CONVENTION Additional Tickets for Events: Additional tickets for events will be available through pre-registration. Only a limited number of tickets for these events will be available at the Convention site. PLEASE SUPPORT THE CONVENTION BY ATTENDING PLANNED FUNCTIONS. Room Changes: Room changes may be necessary! Any changes will be announced at the business meetings and/or posted. Breaks: We have several planned breaks. Some of these will be sponsored and recognition is printed in the program and will be given at the break. We will have the Awards Luncheon Saturday, October 15, 2016. ASNA Convention 7.0 (ANCC) 8.4 (ABN) includes the Poster Session The Alabama State Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Alabama Board of Nursing Provider Number ABNP0002 (valid until March 30, 2017). ASNA Annual Convention Disclosures 1. Attendees are expected to attend at least 90% of each session to receive continuing nursing education credit for that session. 2. Attendees will be expected to evaluate at least ten (10) Posters to receive continuing nursing education credit as follows: Convention Posters, Thursday, October 13, 2016 @ 6:30 PM 3. All sessions will be evaluated separately on the ASNA web site. Deadline for evaluations will be midnight, November 15, 2016 4. Certificates of Attendance will be generated electronically immediately following the completion of the evaluation. 5. Nursing licensees will not be scanned. ASNA will place contact hours on the Board of Nursing transcript based on sessions evaluated. 6. All presenters and planners of the convention declare no conflict of interests. Presenters’ employment settings will be announced at the start of each session. 7. The presence of products in the exhibit area does not imply endorsement by ASNA or ANCC. 8. ASNA has received no commercial support for this conference. 11
