Divergent : Book Review
Divergent is a series by author Veronica Roth. The books are beautifully
written and reflect what society might be like in the future. It contains tons of
action, adventure, and a little bit of romance. The story will keep you in
suspense and wanting more.
Beatrice Prior is a very quiet and shy girl in the beginning. When she turns
sixteen, she is finally old enough to pick which faction she will be part of. There
are five factions: Dauntless, Candor, Amity, Erudite, and Abnegation. It is a
choice that will change her life. She grew up in the Abnegation faction, where
everyone must be completely selfless and wear the same gray outfit every day.
But there?s something different about her that no one knows except her and a
lady named Tory. She is Divergent. That means she doesn?t actually belong to
any particular faction. They are usually killed because they can?t be brainwashed
like everyone else. That?s why she must keep it a secret.
Beatrice decides to be part of the Dauntless faction. The faction is
dedicated to courage, toughness, bravery, and fearlessness. When she joins, she
decides to change her image. She cuts her hair and tells everyone she meets
that her name is Tris. The events that happen in this book force Tris to be bold
and strong. She has to be brave and go out of her comfort zone many times. By
the end of the book, she is a completely different person. But there is a twist at
the end of the last book that you would never expect. You?ll have to read the
book to find out what it is.
My opinion of this book is that it?s one of my favorites. It?s hard to put
down until you finish it. Even though it?s kind of like a different version of the
Hunger Games, it?s still very interesting. It might even be a little better. I would
definitely give it a five out of five stars rating. The characters are very relatable.
Their personalities are easy to fall in love with. And the action will keep you on
the edge of your seat. Veronica Roth?s style of writing is something I really love.
It?s very bold and inspires the readers. I bet you would rate it five out of five
stars, too, after reading the books.
