Volunteering at BMA races helped me to gain experience in the events<br />
organization field, to mix with professionals, and get a real taste of responsibility<br />

Sarah Abdallah: VIP Buses project manager<br />
Sarah has a bachelor in business from USJ and a<br />
master's degree in marketing from LAU. Sarah, 24 years<br />
old, first volunteered in 2013 with the objective to fill<br />
community hours for her civic engagement class. She<br />
kept volunteering after her first experience and was a<br />
volunteer project manager during the marathon, leading<br />
8 other volunteers and handling all VIP transportation bus<br />
schedules, a complicated and very punctual task.<br />

Albert Cheaib: Race Director Assistant<br />
In <strong>2015</strong>, Albert Cheaib, achieved his master's degree from<br />
Escuela Real Madrid in Sports Management. Albert came<br />
in as an intern in the race department with the goal of<br />
enriching his knowledge in the field he has been studying.<br />
At the end of his internship, Albert’s intelligence and<br />
dedication made him receive the award of BEST INTERN<br />
and then an opportunity for a full time job in the race<br />
department. Today Albert is a fully active employee in the<br />
association.<br />
Lebanese Red Cross<br />
Scouts<br />
The Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) attaches great importance<br />
to the Youth's efforts and activities as the youth constitute<br />
an important group of volunteers who provide care to<br />
those most in need. By participating in volunteering<br />
activities such as the Beirut Marathon, LRC enhance their<br />
volunteers’ capacities and abilities to better fulfill tasks<br />
assigned to them under the slogan "For humankind".<br />
On BDLBM race day, 400 youth volunteers were spread<br />
on the course, start line and finish line to deal with any<br />
emergency and medical relief.<br />
In <strong>2015</strong>, 221 scout members assisted in controlling the<br />
closure of the roads leading to race courses in order<br />
to protect the runners from any vehicle entering those<br />
courses.<br />

Every volunteer receives a Certificate of<br />
Appreciation acknowledging their involvement<br />
and participation.<br />
