these awesome drives.
Robyn Howard announced that the Driving Schools
need workers, students, and instructors so please go register
ASAP.
Travis Howard would like for everyone to know that
he has gone another month without a speeding ticket in his
996. He also noted that the Time Trials are getting closer so
go get signed up.
Lisa Steele announced that the Club Race is just around
the corner and she is beginning to work on caterers and
other hospitality arrangements.
Christy Payne reported that she has LOTS of ideas for
some GREAT Social Events. She is looking at combining
a Ladies Spa Day with the car show already scheduled on
June 6th at the Cooper Aerobic Center. They have a fabulous
Spa on sight that could pamper our wonderful ladies of the
Maverick Region. Christy also reported that there were
5 people who attended the Thursday lunch at Kincaids,
one of whom was a new member. This is a new location
so hopefully it will catch on and will have more people
attending next month. Christy also brought up the idea of
whether the officers should have name badges. There was a
motion and a vote. Officers will get name badges.
Christy reporting for Denny Payne wants to make sure
that ALL chairs need to contact Denny if they have any
information they need posted on the website. Please do not
assume that Denny will just know that you need something
posted. Christy also announced that the current ad on
the web for Habitat will change on the 15th to an ad for
Autocross schools and course design.
Wendy Shoffit is working on Club Race registration
duties.
Carey Spreen got some good feedback from people at
the New (All) Members Party about possibly doing some
combination Rally events with Clint Blackman and his
Sunday Drives. Combination events seem to get more
people in attendance.
John Hamilton reported that the first DE is coming
March 6th-7th. A pizza happy hour is in the works for
Saturday night at the LaQuinta. The last happy hour which
included a cookout by Keith Olcha was a huge success.
Jan Mayo speaking for Richard Bradley asked Christy
if she would write an article about the New (All) Members
Party. Christy agreed to get Denny to write it.
Jan Mayo reported that not all advertisers have paid so
she is going to have to get out the Big Guns and get mean
about collecting the money. I have seen her guns so I hope
for everyone involved that you PAY quickly. We will also
have two new advertisers (Texas World Speedway and
Yellow 7 Interactive) that will start in March.
That completes the round table discussion and it is back
to Mike to announce the Mav of the Month. This month’s
recipient is none other than…Christy Payne!
Congratulations Christy!!
