The decreased reaction rate of hydrogen uptake of LaNi 5 due to the presence of<br />
helium was previously reported and the rate limiting step was announced to be the<br />
transport of H 2 to the surface of the LaNi 5 [64]. This result was verified in this work.<br />
Supported with the inertness of LaNi 5 with He, the rate limiting step was verified to be<br />
the transport of H 2 from the bulk of the gas phase to the metal gas interface.<br />
