Johor Corporation launches Ibrahim<br />

International Business District (IIBD) brand<br />

Corporation (JCorp) recently launched<br />

the Ibrahim International Business<br />

District (IIBD) brand and its promise of<br />

the Spirit of Enterprise, of Johor State<br />

Government’s ‘aspirations for IIBD to<br />

serve as a catalyst of growth, attracting<br />

talent and investment, and encouraging<br />

innovation and entrepreneurship.’ It is<br />

focused on four perspectives, or ‘HOME<br />

lenses’, that will ‘define and drive<br />

development and investment strategies<br />

within IIBD’, namely:<br />

Heritage, balancing continuity<br />

with change, where the authenticity<br />

of IIBD’s heritage, traditions and<br />

culture is celebrated and built upon<br />

amidst its evolution into a worldclass<br />

business district.<br />

Opportunity, reflecting IIBD as a<br />

place for equal opportunities for<br />

all businesses and people, where<br />

strategic corporate entities will be<br />

leveraged to capture high multiplier<br />

effects and spur a vibrant economy.<br />

IIBD will drive ideas and nurture<br />

talents that paves the way for global<br />

Mobility, to move IIBD towards a<br />

and beyond borders. In line with<br />

Mobility lens, IIBD will also offer<br />

world-class infrastructure, futureforward<br />

technology and seamless<br />

connectivity.<br />

Eco-sustainability, aimed at<br />

elevating the liveability of IIBD<br />

citizens and businesses for a<br />

sustainable future and emphasising<br />

the call to be ‘green’ and ecocommitted.<br />

Further, these four goals as<br />

envisioned in the “Spirit of Enterprise”<br />

will be commemorated by four artistic<br />

creations by Johorean award-winning<br />

sculptor Nizam Abdullah.<br />

JCorp Helming IIBD<br />

Operating as master developer,<br />

implementer and marketer of IIBD,<br />

JCorp will be setting up an ‘IIBD entity’<br />

to (a) further accelerate local and<br />

foreign investment capital, social capital<br />

and human capital and (b) to shape and<br />

implement pro-business and investment<br />

policies and plans in promoting<br />

IIBD as the preferred location for<br />

investors seeking attractive, emerging<br />

opportunities. Currently, JCorp is in the<br />

midst of structuring and benchmarking<br />

financial and tax incentives with the<br />

state and federal governments, to be<br />

offered by IIBD in a bid to become<br />

a catalyst for economic growth and<br />

entrepreneurial opportunities for its<br />
