The University of
Economics at the EAIE
conference in Liverpool
The representatives of our university took part in the 28 th
Annual EAIE (European Association for International
Education) Conference. It was held in Liverpool, UK, from 13-16
September 2016. This year’s conference theme was ‘Imagine…’

As the organizers explain,
international educators have
a vision and dreams of higher
education that transcends
national borders, nurtures
global citizens and moves us
closer to freedom, equality
and peace around the world.
The conference was packed
with 170 sessions, networking
events and knowledgesharing
opportunities. The
5200 guests and 200 exhibitors
came from 80 different
countries.
Edyta Lachowicz-Santos, Head
of the Marketing Communications
Office, took on the
role as Chair of Employability
Steering Group at the conference.
She also represented
our university during two sessions:
‘Employability presents:
Imagine… having a successful
employability strategy’ and
‘Peer discussion: Is your institution
producing employable
graduates?’. Moreover, the
representatives of the International
Cooperation Office met
the delegates of our partner
universities and promoted our
university at a Polish exhibition
stand ‘Ready, Study, GO!
Poland’.
We hope that our presence
at this prestigious conference
will continue to strengthen
the image of the University
of Economics in Katowice on
the international stage. We
do believe that the contacts
we made during the sessions
and meetings will enhance
the development of new international
projects, while at the
same time strengthening the
internationalization of our
university.
The next EAIE conference will
be held in a year in Seville,
Spain.
