Making memories
Linda Welton, of Furtho Farm,
diversified into offering her barn as a
wedding venue almost by accident.
After a couple of requests she found
that she enjoyed hosting these events.
Gradually they became a regular
occurrence and the more she held the
greater the potential she could see.
Furtho Manor Farm is a working
sheep and arable farm so there some
restrictions that new couples can’t
avoid, like fireworks and chinese
lanterns and the midnight finish.
However, these are minor concerns
when you look at the idyllic setting and
opportunities to create your own rural
dream. Events are hosted in the large
barn which looks over the beautiful 17th
century St Bartholomew’s Church as well
as a medieval dovecote. The church can
offer a small number of blessings.
