Community Swinging Songwriters 8.15pm - 11.00pm, Friday, 3 February, York House Centre, London Road, Stony Stratford, MK11 1JQ Many songwriters have shown themselves to be magnificent wordsmiths and those who have written tunes with a swinging jazzy feel have heard them interpreted by some of the great voices in popular music. Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Sarah Vaughan, as well as more recent singers including Norah Jones, Madeleine Peyroux and Corrine Rae Bailey have all made their contributions, matched by the men, of course. Dirty Bizness are bringing you some of those songs in their own swinging jazzy bluesy style, with guests Sharon Watson and Dick Clarke. Doors Open: 7.30pm. The friendly volunteer York House bar staff will be pleased to serve you real ale, wines, and soft drinks – the proceeds from which go to York House.
