An employment and training program for women interested in
nontraditional blue-collar and construction jobs, training, and
apprenticeships. Must be between the ages of 18 and 50, have a
high school diploma or HSE, be interested in a blue-collar career,
able to attend day or evening programs, and able to lift 50 pounds.
Call for an appointment Mon.–Sat. 8–4. Information sessions occur
Tue. at 10 am and Wed. at 6 pm.

Early breast and cervical cancer detection services available for all
women, including breast palpation, instruction in breast self-examination,
mammography, pap smears, referrals. It is recommended
that all women get pap smears once per year and women over 40 (or
younger if they have a family history of breast cancer) get mammograms
once per year. Spanish also spoken.
Provides services to mothers inside and outside correctional facilities.
Community-based programs include transitional and permanent
supportive housing; a comprehensive employment training and placement
program; case management and therapeutic services; pre- and
post-release mentoring; mentoring for children with incarcerated
parents; child care that includes a fully licensed day care center, an
after-school program, and a summer camp that enables mothers to
go to work or school; thrift shops; and a community food pantry.
