GoodTemps is a contractual temporary-staffing service, specializing<br />

in short- and long-term employment and temp-to-hire opportunities<br />

for a diverse population, including people with disabilities, seniors,<br />

and those with barriers to employment. GoodTemps’s reach includes<br />

all five boroughs of New York City, Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk<br />

Counties, and Northern New Jersey. Positions vary from office/clerical<br />

to professional, from labor to retail, technical, and more.<br />

Osborne’s Workforce Development programs offer comprehensive<br />

employment and training services to people with criminal records,<br />

including vocational and educational assessments, career counseling,<br />

job-readiness workshops, resume preparation, hard-skills training<br />

focused on construction and food services, internships, job search,<br />

and placement with follow-up support to assist participants in adjusting<br />

to workplace demands. Through partnerships in the food service<br />

and construction trades, Osborne offers internships and job opportunities<br />

in fields known to open to individuals with prior criminal justice<br />

involvement.<br />

A for-profit organization providing companies with candidates for<br />

entry-level positions. America Works specializes in helping people<br />

who receive public assistance (including food stamps, welfare, and<br />

social security) obtain employment through job training, work readiness,<br />

skills building, job placement, and other support. Orientation<br />

dates and times available via phone. Comprehensive veterans services.<br />

At HOPE, students are trained to compete in today’s tough job<br />

market through an array of on-site support services, including legal<br />

counseling, food and clothing, and assistance in obtaining housing,<br />

child care, medical, and transitional work benefits. Students must<br />

attend an information session before being invited into the intensive<br />

training program. Must be drug and alcohol free and age 18 or over.<br />

Call to register for an information session, which typically start at<br />
