The Dr. Phillips High School<br />
women’s wrestling team won the<br />
program’s first state championship.<br />
Sophomores Shania Gowan and<br />
Shedeline Ulysse each won individual<br />
state championships. Freshman<br />
Jessica Corredor and senior<br />
Valeria Herrera each earned state<br />
runners-up. Sophomore Jennifer<br />
Gabriel, sophomore Karoline<br />
Ortiz, junior Alexa Phillips, sophomore<br />
Trinity Rios and junior Remy<br />
Vargas placed in the top six.<br />
Throughout the season, the team<br />
won its first Metro West Championship,<br />
defeated the defending state champions<br />
in a dual meet, and took the state<br />
championship. The Lady Panthers are<br />
coached by Kirwyn Adderley.<br />
Eight of the nine place-winners are expected<br />
to return next season.<br />

Club Vacations will take place May<br />
1 at The Golden Bear Club at<br />
Keene’s Pointe in Windermere.<br />
