Since 2006, the Foundation has organized a training program for
scriptwriters from Eastern and Central Europe called ScripTeast.
Since 1999 the Independent Film Foundation has organized the
annual ceremony of Polish Film Awards “Or∏y” (The Eagles). It
also runs the Polish Film Academy, which gathers all active Polish
filmmakers. Members of the Academy, in a two-stage balloting
process, select the nominees and then winners of the Eagles.
Over the past three years, the Foundation organized the Polish
presentation in Polish-Czech-Slovak pavilion at the International
Film Festival in Cannes. The Foundation is also involved in coorganizing
international meetings and conferences.
The founder of Independent Film Foundation is Dariusz Jab∏oƒski,
film director and producer, member of the European Film
Academy.

The Foundation was established jointly by the Association of
Polish Filmmakers, the City of Gdynia and the Pomorskie
Voivodship with the aim to promote film culture, particularly at the
Polish Film Festival in Gdynia.

Silesia Film is a regional cultural organization promoting and
distributing film and film culture, with a particular focus on the
Silesian Voivodship. The institution runs 7 cinemas, maintains the
Silesian Film Archives, rents cinema equipments and documents
film-related events taking place in the region. In 2006, the Silesia
Film established the Film Arts Centre in Katowice – a modern
centre for the promotion of the film culture.

The Association organizes the Summer Film Academy in
Zwierzyniec – an international and Polish film festival accompanied
by numerous seminars and discussion panels, particularly for the
young audience.

The main mission of the Association is to promote all form of arts
and their distribution, mainly by organizing film festivals, events
and special screenings. The main event organized by the
Association is the Era New Horizons Festival in Wroc∏aw.

The Warsaw Film Foundation is the main organizer of the Warsaw
Film Festival. In 2006, the Foundation was the key partner of the
European Film Academy in organizing the ceremony of the
European Film Awards. The Foundation also played a leading role
in establishing the Association of Film Festivals in Central and
Eastern Europe – CentEast; this association has become a cooperation
framework for 16 key film festivals organized across the
region. Furthermore, the Warsaw Film Foundation organizes the
CentEast Regional Film Fair, which accompanies the Warsaw Film
Festival. The Foundation also undertakes activities focusing on the
promotion of Polish film productions abroad.
Currently the Warsaw Film Foundation is chaired by Ewa
Wi´ckowska-Mi´tkiewicz and her deputy is Stefan Laudyn, the
director of the Warsaw Film Festival.
