One of biggest film events in <strong>Poland</strong>, organized annually since<br />

1985. The only FIAPF-accredited feature film festival in <strong>Poland</strong>.<br />

An international jury awards the Grand Prix in the International<br />

Debut Competition (for first and second features) and the main<br />

prize in the Regional Competition (feature films and feature-length<br />

documentaries from Central and Eastern Europe), with a number<br />

of other sections completing the festival framework, along with<br />

the CentEast Warsaw Screenings regional film market.<br />

Festival of student films and animations from around the world.<br />

Shorts competition for student films, with the Dinosaur Awards<br />

going out to these young filmmakers, as well as Special Gold<br />

Dinosaurs for the best film school in Europe and academic<br />

individual with outstanding achievement in combining creative and<br />

academic activity.<br />

Out-of-competition events include a number of artistic endeavours<br />

in animation, including film presentations, discussion panels and<br />

Q&A sessions.<br />

Camerimage is an international festival of the art of<br />

cinematography and the world’s largest event of its kind. Since its<br />

first edition in 1993, it has continued to grow and attract an<br />

increasing number of cinematographers, directors, actors and<br />

other filmmakers. Initially held in Toruƒ, by 2000 the festival<br />

moved to the city of ¸ódê. Each year the Festival Jury awards the<br />

Golden Frog award for best cinematography in a competition film;<br />

the Golden Tadpole for best cinematography in a student film and<br />

the special Camerimage Lifetime Achievement Award to<br />

a prominent cinematographer.<br />

ALE KINO! International Young Audience <strong>Film</strong> Festival<br />

Poznaƒ<br />

A festival aimed at presenting young audiences with artistically<br />

impressive films and the only event of its kind in <strong>Poland</strong>. The main<br />

competition is open to Polish and international films, with the main<br />

award of the festival being the Golden Goats for the best liveaction<br />

film and best animated film.<br />

Children’s and young viewers juries award the Marcinek and<br />

Marcin prizes to the best films for children and young audiences,<br />

respectively.<br />

A special prize, the Platinum Goats, is awarded annually for<br />

outstanding film or audiovisual media output for children and<br />

young audiences.<br />
