The composer Alo Mattiisen who<br />
came from Jõgeva became popular<br />
primarily because of his songs du r<strong>in</strong>g<br />
the period of national awaken<strong>in</strong>g. The<br />
music days dedicated to him <strong>in</strong>clude<br />
a music w<strong>ee</strong>k at the Jõgeva secondary<br />
school and two competitions of<br />
vocal ensembles: the 16th competition<br />
for schoolchildren and the 1st<br />
competition for young adults.<br />
