THE CHATBOT TREND
With the increasing popularity of messaging apps and advancements in AI,
developers are creating new ways to communicate with customers while
reducing their costs. The future possibilities for chatbots are boundless as
it seamlessly fits into how people use technology in their everyday lives. As technology
grows it allows for new ways to have conversations with companies on a personal level.

“?,” “hey,” “help,” “yes,” and
a “thumbs up” top the list of
most common phrases used.
• Images are being more
popular to send during
conversations with bots.
• 12% of conversations with
bots are using asking for a
joke or funny saying.
• 29% of people use bots when

• In China, the most popular

1. AMAZON ECHO
Amazon's Alexa became a surprise hit
in 2014. Most ask Alexa to play music or
answer questions, but she can also order
from Amazon's full catalog.
2. SIRI
Currently, Apple's Siri is the most famous
chatbot. With the integration into
AppleTV, Siri allows users to search via
voice commands through individual apps;
now you can find your next binge-worthy
TV show on Netflix or plan your next
vacation on Tripadvisor.
3. KIK
Kik, a popular chat app, is changing how
people are shopping online. Their partner
bots like H&M can show you outfit
inspirations and purchase options.
4. FACEBOOK MESSENGER
Facebook launched their chatbot API
in 2016 to better intergrate business
interactions through their Messenger
app. Users can use the chatbot to order
flowers, order an Uber, or shop with a
personal shopping assistant. To date there
are over 30,000 FB Messenger Chatbots.
In 2014 Microsoft introduced
Xiaoice, pronounced Shao-ice.
700 million people chat with
the bot more than 60 times
a month when they have a
broken heart or lost a job
because they feel like they can
chat with her unbiasedly.
