City is ready to sparkle and shine...
Get ready! Lincoln is gearing-up
for a sparkling festive season,
bursting with family fun.
Lincoln’s Christmas Lights
A top sportswoman, television celebrities and colourful
pantomime characters will be turning out in force on
November 17 for the switching on of Lincoln’s
Christmas Lights.
The celebrations get underway in the High Street at
5.30pm, with singing, entertainment and characters from
both Lincoln pantomimes – Cinderella (The New Theatre
Royal) and Beauty & The Beast (The Drill Hall) - before the
main switch-on at 7pm.
Lincoln’s own Paralympian hero Sophie Wells MBE will be
attending. She was hugely successful at the London 2012
Paralympic Games when her two individual silver medals
helped Team GB get gold in the dressage.
She also hit the medal trail again earlier this year at the Rio
2016 Paralympics, winning two gold and one silver medal.
The switch-on ceremony will also feature Atomic Kitten
star Kerry Katona, with fellow stars of the Theatre Royal’s
pantomime Cinderella, along with the cast of the Drill
Hall’s Beauty and the Beast production.
Also attending is CBBC presenter Christopher Johnson.
Chris has been a regular face on CBBC, presenting Shout
Out Saturday alongside Hacker T Dog.
