OFF STREET LOADING SPACE<br />
14 The owner of every hotel, retail or rental store, office building, wholesale ho<strong>use</strong>,<br />
industrial building, or any other building of a similar nature shall provide off-street<br />
loading space according to the following:<br />
(a) for a usable floor area up to and including 3,000 square feet, one space required;<br />
(b) for a usable floor area of over 3,000 square feet and up to and including 6,000<br />
square feet, two spaces required;<br />
(c) for a usable floor area of over 6,000 square feet, three spaces required.<br />
WATER/SEWER EXCEPTIONS<br />
14A No development permit shall be issued unless the proposed development is on a city<br />
sewer or water system, provided however, that this section shall not apply to:<br />
(a) developments within a holding zone or WC zone on lots which abut the existing<br />
public street network;<br />
(b) the replacement <strong>by</strong> a similar <strong>use</strong>, or the repair of a building which is not on city<br />
sewer and water but conforms in every other respect to the <strong>land</strong> <strong>use</strong> <strong>by</strong>-<strong>law</strong>;<br />
(c) additions which do not result in a change in <strong>use</strong> or increase in the number of<br />
dwelling units;<br />
(d) accessory buildings.<br />
(e) developments within an I-3 Zone, located outside the Development Boundary<br />
identified on Map II, Appendix "C" of the Halifax-Dartmouth Metropolitan<br />
Regional Plan.<br />
(f) Repealed<br />
(g) R-1 and R-2 <strong>use</strong>s on lots which abut the existing public street network for the<br />
area designated "Residential Environments" for the area of Kearney Lake west of<br />
the Bicentennial highway.<br />
HOME OCCUPATIONS - BED AND BREAKFAST<br />
l4B Where home occupations are permitted under this <strong>by</strong>-<strong>law</strong>, such home occupation shall<br />
comply with the following:<br />
(1) No person who is not a resident of the dwelling unit shall be the proprietor of, or<br />
shall be employed in, a home occupation;<br />
(2) Only one home occupation shall be permitted per lot;<br />
(3) Such home occupations shall be confined to one storey of the dwelling and shall<br />
not occupy more than 50 percent of the floor area of such storey to a maximum of<br />
400 gross square feet;<br />
(4) No interior or exterior alterations or additions shall be permitted not normally<br />
associated with a dwelling;<br />
(5) Except for articles manufactured on the premises, no stock in trade shall be<br />
displayed or sold on the premises;<br />
