Paulerspury Village Hall will be home
to a selection of quality framed
paintings over the August Bank
Holiday weekend. Pop along to
look or buy an original painting and
greeting card. The reasonably priced
works of art have been produced by
talented local amateur artists and they
make excellent gifts.

A Breast Cancer Charity Concert
Boobs and Brass in association with Bradwell Silver Band

Boobs & Brass in concert with
Bradwell Silver Band will link female
players from across the country to
showcase big-band numbers while
raising money for Cancer Research.
Brian Keech, Musical Director of
Bradwell Silver Band commented
“This is a truly exciting project for
Bradwell Silver Band. The opportunity
to play alongside Boobs and Brass
for Breast Cancer Now will be
momentous!”
This June The Music Day Brass
Band Award was awarded to Boobs
and Brass as the band best embodies
the BBC Music Day 2017 theme
“The Power of Music”. It was formed
in 2006 by friends Jane Nichols
and Margaret Betts and has raised
£201,154 to date. Now boasting
three separate bands covering various
regions in the UK, Margaret Betts of
Boobs and Brass said, “We would
like to extend our sincere thanks to
Bradwell Silver Band for supporting
our fundraising for Breast Cancer
Now. We hope you will all enjoy our
music making”.

triumphs
On Saturday, 17 June the amazing
Brooke Layla wowed the judges on
The Voice Kids with her interpretation
of Running up that Hill – one of Kate
Bush’s most successful releases.
As her parents looked on
slightly nervously, Brooke’s rousing
performance saw both Danny and
Will.i.am spin their chairs. She
delighted the audience and all three
judges were amazed by her talent
and the powerful voice of one so
young.
The tension rose further as Brooke
had to choose between Will.i.am,
a judge since the show began and
Danny Jones, lead vocalist and guitarist
with McFly. Will.i.am was triumphant as
Brooke made her selection. We all now
look forward to seeing what happens
next as we wish Brooke the best of luck
in The Voice Kids.
Brooke Layla regularly performs
around Milton Keynes and supports a
range of charities.
