SERIES 8 FANs
Series 8 fans are axial flow fans, i.e., they
force air to flow along the axis or shaft of the
fan blade. All of the previous fans listed are
radial flow fans, in that they force air out along
the radius of the fan blades, creating a high
pressure at the tips. The direction of rotation
of a Series 8 is specified by the direction of
rotation turn to blow air into the motor, when
the observer is standing at the shaft end where
the fan is mounted. i.e., Photo 801 shows a
counterclockwise fan. If you rotate the fan
CCW on its axis, it will blow air into the page, or
away from you. Photo 802 shows a clockwise
fan. For CW rotation, the air is forced away
from you.
