EZE-SLEEVES®
WIRE MARKERS
EZE-SLEEVE®
We stock the EZE-Sleeves® for our own in bushing bearing housings in end bells, for bushing bearing
cartridges, and for bushing shaft holes. The EZE-Sleeve® is made of cast iron with a precision ground OD
a few milimeters (mm) greater than the bearing OD, and rough machined ID a few milimeters (mm) less
than the bearing OD. The first two or three digits of the EZE-Sleeve® catalog numbers are the bearing
OD in milimeters. The last two digits of the catalog number are the EZE-Sleeve® length in milimeters. An
exact OD is marked on each EZE-Sleeve® to the nearest thousandth of an inch, but we recommend that
you use your own micrometers to verify the dimension. To use an EZE-Sleeve®, bore out the housing to
0.002” smaller than the precision ground OD. This will provide a 0.002” interference fit. We also suggest
you us an anaerobic adhesive/sealant to secure the EZE-Sleeve® in place. Finally, finish machining the
ID per a standard bearing tolerance chart. ABEC-1 fits are shown: precision bearings require a tighter
tolerance. EZE-Sleeve® length is greater than the bearing width to allow you to test bore the lip and
check it with your micrometers before completing the final cut. This lip will be faced off after the
bore is complete. We recommend leaving the bore below the minimum diameter and sanding a few
thousandths off the bore to complete the bushing operation.
* Put the number you want printed on the band in this space. For instance, AFS-3-6
is a white band for a size 20 lead wire with the number “6” printed on it. We stock the
numbers 0-9. All are black markings printed on a white PVC flexible sleeve. Letters
A through Z and other symbols are available on special orders at an increased price.
Colored sleeves are also available at a premium price. We have used these markers
on our rewinds, and they stood the varnish and baking cycles satisfactorily. Ask for
a sample to try on your own leads. They last better than adhesive number strips,
and they are non-conducting.
