Kernkraftwerk Würgassen
zeigt: Rückbau ist sicher und
umweltschonend möglich
(preussenelektra) Anlässlich einer
Besichtigung des Kernkraftwerks
Würgassen am 8. Juni 2017 konnten
sich Bürgermeister und Medienvertreter
aus der Umgebung der von
PreussenElektra betriebenen Kernkraftwerke
Isar und Grafenrheinfeld
ein Bild vom Stand der Stilllegung des
Kernkraftwerks Würgassen machen.
PreussenElektra hat Kommunalpolitikern
und Medienvertretern
an ihren Kernkraftwerksstandorten
ange boten, ein weit fortgeschrittenes
Rückbauprojekt in Augenschein zu
nehmen, um eine Vorstellung davon
zu bekommen, wie das Kernkraftwerk
in ihrer Region in einigen Jahren
aussehen könnte.
Der Standortleiter Markus Wentzke
verschaffte den Besuchern zu Beginn
einen Überblick über die einzelnen
abgeschlossenen Rückbauphasen, bevor
es dann in die leergeräumten
Kraftwerksgebäude ging.
Der nukleare Rückbau des
Kernkraft werks Würgassen wurde im
August 2014 erfolgreich abgeschlossen.
Die Gebäude des ehemaligen
Kontrollbereichs sind freigemessen
und erfüllen die Voraussetzungen für
den Abriss. In Summe wurden daraus
35.000 t an Systemen und Bauteilen
demontiert und entsorgt.
Derzeit erfolgen die vorbereitenden
Arbeiten für die Entlassung
der Anlage aus der atomrechtlichen
Überwachung. Aus dem Rückbau der
Anlage sind ca. 7.400 t schwach- und
mittelradioaktiver Abfall hervorgegangen.
Diese lagern im separaten
Zwischenlager auf dem Kraftwerksgelände
und warten dort auf den
Abtransport ins Bundesendlager
Konrad bei Salzgitter. Sobald dies
abge schlossen ist, kann der konventionelle
Abriss der Gebäude beginnen.
Kraftwerksleiter Markus Wentzke
resümiert: „Mit dem erfolgreichen
Rückbau unserer Anlage haben wir
den Beweis angetreten, dass wir
Kernkraftwerke zurückbauen können,
trotzdem wir eines der ersten
kommerziell genutzten Kernkraftwerke
sind, die zurückgebaut wurden.
Wir haben dies sicher und umweltschonend
getan. Unser Wissen
und die Erfahrung sind für die
an stehenden Rückbauprojekte von
immensem Wert.“
