The ZR17 is a steel space frame design with CFRP composite
honeycomb panels, powered by a fuel-injected Yamaha WR450F
single-cylinder engine. The engine is connected to the wheels by a
chain-drive system and a Drexler differential, and cooled by a dual
radiator setup. The suspension is a double unequal-length a-arm
design, with pullrod-actuated coilovers, sitting on Hoosier LC0 10-
inch tires. The electronics consist of MoTeC hardware. ISR
brake calipers, machined grey cast iron discs,
and Tilton master cylinders assist in stopping
the ZR17. The body and aerodynamics
package has been completely
reworked for a seamless
appearance and better
integration with the whole vehicle.

Zips Racing has produced its 26th vehicle, the ZR17,
since the team‘s inception in 1990. The design of the
ZR17 is the latest evolution of a design which prioritizes
simplicity and reliability, while also being lightweight.
Using a very unique and tight weave between design
integration and advanced manufacturing processes we
have produced a vehicle far more superior to any
predecessor.
