This bay window had the added difficulty of a
bench seat inside the bay – ‘so how do we make a
statement that is also practical’?

Curtains would have been too fussy around the
www.copelandinteriors.co.uk
bay, so the answer was to do insert roman blinds.
The knack here, is to make sure you choose a fabric
that can be well patterned matched so it continues
around the bay - the expertise is in the making also!
Co-ordinating the fabrics on the bench seat with the blinds made a stunning feature.
Georgian curved room and windows (below)
This was a beautiful room where the end wall was a complete semi-circle and the windows curved
round too. There was added difficulties, in that in-between the windows, were marbled columns and
decorative mirrors, so the curtains could only go
so far. The client really wanted to make a feature
of the windows with her curtains.
So here we made curved boards on site to fit
especially into the window recesses. The valances
and curtains were attached to the curved boards,
getting the exact measurements and shape were
crucial. The finished look was amazing, as was the
rest of the room by the time I had finished with it!
Like anything, when something is not simple, but
you want it to look its best, it is always worth
getting in a company that has experience and
knowledge so that costly mistakes don’t happen!
