Mickey Gilley Concert
UNDER THE STARS AT THE
RAMONA BOWL IN HEMET
There is no better place to be for a summer
night concert than the Ramona Bowl in
Hemet, and Mickey Gilley is coming to entertain
you on Saturday, September 2nd at 8pm.
The Ramona Bowl is the historic outdoor
amphitheatre located in Hemet. The amphitheatre,
located in the foothills of Hemet, is a beautiful,
natural setting where the Official Outdoor
Play of California, Ramona, is presented every
year, but it is also a wonderful concert venue.
Mickey Gilley is a country singer who
transitioned to being a pop country singer. His
career started in the 70’s with hits like “Room
Full of Roses”. Other hits in the 1970s include
“Chains of Love” (1977), “Honky Tonk Memories”
(1977), “She’s Pulling Me Back Again”
(1977), and “Here Comes the Hurt Again”
(1978). These songs were a mix of honky tonk
and countrypolitan that brought Gilley to the
top of the charts in the 1970s.
In the 1980’s Gilley’s music was featured
on the soundtrack of Urban Cowboy. A string
of six number-ones on the Country charts
followed the success of Urban Cowboy. Other
No. 1’s include “True Love Ways”, “A Headache
Tomorrow (Or a Heartache Tonight)”,
“You Don’t Know Me”, “Lonely Nights”, and
“Stand By Me”. IER
Besides being the home to the Ramona
play, the Ramona Bowl hosts concerts
outdoor venues in southern California.
