Wivelsfield Village Hall<br />

Writing this article in the middle of August with the schools on holiday and thus the<br />
number of Hall users greatly diminished, people might think the Hall personnel can<br />
relax. Far from it!<br />
There are a number of jobs that cannot be<br />
carried out when the Hall is in use. You can<br />
hardly shut off the toilet areas when the Hall is<br />
being used, so the August period is often one<br />
of maintenance. For example, before the Hall<br />
users return to their normal routines, we hope<br />
to carry out improvements to the ventilation to<br />
the Renshaw Room toilets and kitchenette area.<br />
The Wivelsfield Little Theatre are aiming to repair<br />
and rehang the back curtains to the stage. We<br />
are also hoping to provide a new cupboard in<br />
the Kitchen to house all our crockery and cutlery<br />
in one place. We aim to have available sufficient<br />
dining items for up to 130 persons to be seated<br />
comfortably in the Main Hall, and yet allow<br />
sufficient space for waiting staff.<br />
We have had the first meeting of our sub-<br />
Committee charged with planning and<br />
later implementing an agreed plan for<br />
improvements to the Hall. A copy of the<br />
proposed improvements has been posted<br />
for some weeks in the Hall foyer for general<br />
viewing. The plan is not yet cast in stone, so if<br />
there is any resident who would like to make<br />
suggestions as to the existing arrangements,<br />
please do not hesitate to talk to us. Thank you.<br />
