funding application for provision of an outdoor<br />

Church Lane Car Park<br />

The Parish Council is in discussion with<br />

contractors regarding repairs to the car park<br />

surface and hopes that remedial work will be<br />

carried out this autumn.<br />

Police Community Support<br />

officer (PCSo) Teams<br />

As some of you may know, our former PCSo,<br />

Ed Hall, moved on in March to become a police<br />

constable in Brighton. Since then the role of<br />

PCSos and ways in which they are deployed<br />

have changed, meaning that there is now a<br />

PCSo team which covers the Parish, rather than<br />

a nominated individual. Although we will lose<br />

the personal touch of having an individual<br />

who knows the parish and its residents in the<br />

way that Ed did, the advantage of the new<br />

arrangement is that there will always be a PCSo<br />

on duty who can help. Please see the contacts<br />

Volunteers Wanted to<br />

Form a Working Group<br />

Last December, Lewes District Council<br />

introduced a Community Infrastructure<br />

Levy (CIL), to replace the former Section 106<br />

(developer contributions) Agreements. CIL can<br />

be charged on new development that creates<br />

net additional floor space of 100 square metres<br />

or more, or creates a new dwelling and in our<br />

area is charged at a rate of £100/m2 for retail<br />

development and £150/m2 for residential<br />

development. The CIL charged goes into a pot<br />

for infrastructure improvements. A part of the<br />

pot for each development goes to the town/<br />

parish within which the development sits (25%<br />

if a neighbourhood plan is in place at the time<br />
