Aida Arosa Bas<strong>to</strong><br />

Aida was born in Polangui, Albay but grew up in Mandaluyong City.<br />

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from<br />

the University of the Philippines-Diliman and Philippine School of<br />

Business Administration-Manila.<br />

She worked at San Miguel Corporation-Makati and was Accounts Officer<br />

at Lion’s Court Tailoring in Quezon City.<br />

In Australia, she was employed in Sales, Administration and<br />

Production Department of Plastiflex Australia Pty. Ltd. She earned<br />

Certificates in Financial Services and Real Estate.<br />

Aida loves dancing and an active member of Kayumanggi<br />

Cultural Dancers, Marie & Friends Line Dancers and Dancing-<br />

4-Fun. She enjoys singing, a member of PLCAA Glee Club<br />

and various Church choirs.<br />

She is the current President of PLCAA, Philippine Language<br />

and Cultural Association of Australia. She is a member of<br />

UPAAA-NSW Chapter.<br />

She was the crea<strong>to</strong>r, producer and Event Chairperson of Mano<br />

Po Lolo, Mano Po Lola, a cultural masterpiece in PLCAA Tri-<br />

Event in 2011.<br />

Luzminda Montilla Bickerstaff<br />

Luzminda was born and raised in Buenavista, Agusan del Norte. She<br />

is the only daughter of Francisco and Natividad Tan. She is married<br />

<strong>to</strong> the late Dr. Jorge Montilla. They are blessed with four children<br />

Celso Montilla (deceased) - Nautical, Dr Cecilia Montilla Rowe, Engr<br />

Jorge Montilla & Dante Montilla - Information technology. She has seven<br />

grandchildren, whom she considered as her treasures.<br />

She graduated from the University of San Carlos with a Bachelor of Science<br />

in Commerce degree. After graduation she got employed as administrative<br />

officer at the Ministry of Human Settlement, Fishery Project at Agusan and<br />

Surigao. She also worked as loan evaluation specialist for Kilusang<br />

Kabuhayan Kaunlaran for Mindanao Region project.<br />

She migrated <strong>to</strong> Australia in 1987 and finished Certificate III<br />

in Nursing with special training in Dementia. She worked as<br />

nursing associate in an aged care facility.<br />

Luz, as she is called by friends, in involved in various<br />

Filipino Australian community projects. She is one of the<br />

direc<strong>to</strong>rs of Concerned Citizens for Over 50’s, and also a<br />

direc<strong>to</strong>r of Banag Banag Association. She is also doing<br />

volunteer work at St. Vincent and a Bronze Legacy supporter<br />

of <strong>NARRA</strong> Co-operative Ltd.
