Market Rasen Primary School News
Welcome to this term’s contribution to the Parish News. The end of the school year is fast
approaching and we are busy as ever with lots of exciting things planned for the children.
Year One and Two celebrated their new IPC topic by coming to school with their suitcases
packed ready to go on holiday. The children are also looking forward to their ‘sleepover’ exit
day with the opportunity to spend the evening at school with lots of fun planned.
On Thursday 16 th June, the Year Five and Six children visited London for the day where they
had a fantastic time visiting the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. As ever,
our children were a credit to us and have enjoyed sharing what they were doing with us back
at school. Our Year Six children have started rehearsals for their play and are excited to
perform at the Festival Hall in a couple of weeks.
We have recently celebrated our Religious Education week focusing on the key themes of
Understanding Christianity. We had lots of visitors from local and Lincoln places of worship
and the children had a great time studying the ‘Big Frieze’ which has resulted in creating art
work to construct a large wooden cross. We are hoping to take the cross to St. Thomas’
Church on Sunday 26 th June at 10.00am to include in our first Education Sunday Service.
Our children will be joining the congregation for our first joint
service. We look forward to as many of you as possible joining us
for the service.
We are very excited about our knight that we have been working
on as part of the Lincoln Knight’s Trail. Our children in
the federation have all been drawing
representations of themselves which have been
stuck onto the knight ready for him to go on
display around Lincoln. Look out for him as you
complete the trail, he will be in one of the key
buildings in Lincoln, maybe even the Cathedral.
