SUMMER 2017 ISSUE 132
Legsby Primary School News
As the summer term races by, it’s time to reflect on all the exciting things that have been
happening at Legsby School.
Congratulations to Film Club who have just
returned from their trip to Paris, where they
screened their latest movie ‘Shadows of the
Past’. Last year’s film was held in such high
regard that, in an unprecedented move,
Cinematheque Francaise invited us back for a
second year running. We showed our film to
an audience made up of groups from around
the world and answered questions about our
work. During our three day trip we also
found time to see the sites and even braved
the heights of the Eiffel Tower! Well done to all concerned for putting Legsby on the
international map. Good luck to them on their forthcoming trips to the Edinburgh Film Festival
and the British Film Institute in London where they will also be showing their film.
For those that didn’t go to Paris, there was a brilliant trip to
Sundown Adventure Park! The children were thrilled by the
experience, and it was lovely for the adults to hear such
positive comments about the behaviour of Legsby School
from members of the public. Year 1 was particularly fond of
the ball pool!
Our school continues to grow and we have a fabulous
addition to the outside area – in the form of Legsby Lodge!
This brilliant National Lottery funded project not only
provides an exciting area for play and exploration – but will
also be a great space for guided reading and creative writing.
We have a packed schedule in the run up to the holidays, with
Key Stage 2 versus parents rounders match, the school fete
and various other surprises for the children. Please check our
website for details.
And finally, a big thank you to all parents, carers and volunteers who have shown such
fabulous support to the school to make this year such a success. We look forward to working
with you again in the autumn under the new Co Headship of Miss Dabb and Mr Murray. Have
a lovely summer!
