Joining international brands and
national groups are a host of designers,
retailers and manufacturers from all
over the world, including a selection of
Bahrain’s leading jewellers. To assist
visitors with making informed buying
choices, the world’s foremost authority
on gemology the GIA (Gemmological
Institute of America) will be offering
complimentary seminars.
Experienced GIA instructors will
provide visitors with information on
different facets of gems and jewellery.
Topics include diamonds, coloured
stones, pearls, how to read GIA grading
reports and important tips when
purchasing jewellery.
For the 12th successive year, the
“Middle East Jewellery of the Year
Awards” will be held on the sidelines of
the exhibition at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel
on 21 November 2016. The event will be
hosted by MPP ME, publishers of the
industry magazine title Arabian Watches
and Jewellery (AWJ).
The Awards are the culmination
of an online public voting system and
the analysis of an elite committee
comprised of watch, jewellery and
pen experts and shall reward the best
brand performers across a variety of
categories.

Jewellery Arabia since its inception
in 1992. CEO, Stephen C. Key talks to
bizbahrain about the 25 th edition of the
event.
What new features can we expect from
Jewellery Arabia this year?
For 2016, Jewellery Arabia will
bring its best designs and finest trends
ranging from finished jewellery, luxury
timepieces, precious stones, objets d’art,
clocks, fine writing instruments and
many more. Jewellery Arabia 2016 will
also have a fashion show and wedding
exhibition spearheaded by the Bahrain
Tourism and Exhibitions Authority
(BTEA). The Authority’s objective is to
promote Bahrain as a wedding tourism
destination to other GCC states and
India.
What is the significance of the 25-year
mark?
A 25 th gala dinner anniversary will
be held in conjunction with our partner,
MPP Middle East LLC. It’ll be a great way
of thanking all our exhibitors and the
Government of Bahrain for all their years
of support that has led to the continuous
success of the Jewellery Arabia series.
How has the event evolved over the
years?
Jewellery Arabia started from
humble beginnings since 1992 where
