Sheraton Bahrain Honored at Travel Awards
Sheraton Bahrain Hotel received a
major industry award “Bahrain’s
Leading Business Hotel 2016” on
World Travel Awards Middle East Gala
Ceremony during a glittering red-carpet
ceremony at The St. Regis Dubai on
September 29, 2016. The award was
presented to Thomas Flindt, General
Manager & Cristalyn Pastrana, Director
of Marketing for Sheraton Bahrain Hotel.
“Bahrain’s Leading Business Hotel”
title was won by Sheraton Bahrain Hotel
for four consecutive years since 2013.
World Travel Awards was
established in 1993 to acknowledge,
reward and celebrate excellence across
all sectors of the tourism industry. World
Travel Awards brand is recognized
globally as the ultimate hallmark
of quality, with winners setting the
benchmark to which all others aspire.
The annual program is renowned as the
most prestigious and comprehensive in
the travel and tourism industry.
AZI Group Supports
Child Development
Representatives from the AlZayani
Investments Group recently visited
the Child Development Center to know
more about the vital role the Center plays
in supporting children with special needs.
The representatives were introduces
to the various departments of the Center
and the employees working in it.
Concluding the visit, AZI distributed
gifts to the children at the center and
donated a cheque to the officials of
the center supporting their efforts and
requirements in assisting the children
with special needs. In this context,
AlZayani Investments Group expressed
their gratitude towards the individuals
who have dedicated their professional
life at the center, and confirmed their
commitment to help in the efforts taken
by the center.
The speaker of the AZI Group said, “At
the AlZayani Investments Group, we are
keen on supporting the efforts of social
societies as they play a major role in
helping sustain the welfare of the society.”
This initiative is taken as part of AZI
Group’s social responsibility towards the

British Council
Presents Higher Education
Opportunities
British Council Bahrain's annual
Education UK Exhibition (EDUKEX
2016), gives prospective students
for undergraduate and graduate
programmes the opportunity to meet
representatives from universities,
colleges and educational institutions.
The Exhibition held on 2-3 November
2016 at Al Taj Ballroom, Sheraton Bahrain
Hotel, Manama is organised annually
by the British Council, the education
exhibition is expected to attract around
1500 visitors to meet representatives
from 25 UK universities and will be
opened by His Excellency, Her Majesty’s
Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain,
Mr Simon Martin.
EDUKEX is part of the British
Council’s initiative to enhance cultural
and educational relations between
Bahrain and the UK by helping create a
knowledge-based economy. Prospective
students from across Bahrain are invited
to attend EDUKEX to obtain information
from representatives of various
universities and learning institutions
about acquiring UK qualifications.
Alan Rutt, British Council Director,
said: “We are very pleased to welcome
this delegation of British higher
education institutions to Bahrain to
participate in this year’s EDUKEX
exhibition, especially in light of
our Bahrain-UK 200th anniversary
celebrations in 2016. Bahraini students
and parents will have the opportunity
to explore what UK institutions offer
in the area of higher education and to
get first-hand answers to any questions
they may have about studying there.
I strongly encourage everyone who is
thinking about studying abroad to visit
the exhibition - you will find it a very
worthwhile experience.”
EDUKEX provides students with
the chance to learn more about UK
education opportunities, courses being
offered in the English language, in
vocational skills & knowledge, and in
higher education. There will also be
information about institutions, entry
requirements, visas, and travel. British
Council also plays an important role
in providing opportunities for both
Middle East and UK institutions to
meet potential partners for mutually
beneficial collaboration in transnational
education and research.
The main objective of EDUKEX is
to raise awareness of the quality of UK
education and the extensive choice of
courses and institutions on offer at every
level.
