Sheraton Bahrain Honored at Travel Awards<br />
Sheraton Bahrain Hotel received a<br />
major industry award “Bahrain’s<br />
Leading Business Hotel <strong>2016</strong>” on<br />
World Travel Awards Middle East Gala<br />
Ceremony during a glittering red-carpet<br />
ceremony at The St. Regis Dubai on<br />
September 29, <strong>2016</strong>. The award was<br />
presented to Thomas Flindt, General<br />
Manager & Cristalyn Pastrana, Director<br />
of Marketing for Sheraton Bahrain Hotel.<br />
“Bahrain’s Leading Business Hotel”<br />
title was won by Sheraton Bahrain Hotel<br />
for four consecutive years since 2013.<br />
World Travel Awards was<br />
established in 1993 to acknowledge,<br />
reward and celebrate excellence across<br />
all sectors of the tourism industry. World<br />
Travel Awards brand is recognized<br />
globally as the ultimate hallmark<br />
of quality, with winners setting the<br />
benchmark to which all others aspire.<br />
The annual program is renowned as the<br />
most prestigious and comprehensive in<br />
the travel and tourism industry.<br />
AZI Group Supports<br />
Child Development<br />
Representatives from the AlZayani<br />
Investments Group recently visited<br />
the Child Development Center to know<br />
more about the vital role the Center plays<br />
in supporting children with special needs.<br />
The representatives were introduces<br />
to the various departments of the Center<br />
and the employees working in it.<br />
Concluding the visit, AZI distributed<br />
gifts to the children at the center and<br />
donated a cheque to the officials of<br />
the center supporting their efforts and<br />
requirements in assisting the children<br />
with special needs. In this context,<br />
AlZayani Investments Group expressed<br />
their gratitude towards the individuals<br />
who have dedicated their professional<br />
life at the center, and confirmed their<br />
commitment to help in the efforts taken<br />
by the center.<br />
The speaker of the AZI Group said, “At<br />
the AlZayani Investments Group, we are<br />
keen on supporting the efforts of social<br />
societies as they play a major role in<br />
helping sustain the welfare of the society.”<br />

Presents Higher Education<br />
Opportunities<br />
British Council Bahrain's annual<br />
Education UK Exhibition (EDUKEX<br />
<strong>2016</strong>), gives prospective students<br />
for undergraduate and graduate<br />
programmes the opportunity to meet<br />
representatives from universities,<br />
colleges and educational institutions.<br />
The Exhibition held on 2-3 <strong>November</strong><br />
<strong>2016</strong> at Al Taj Ballroom, Sheraton Bahrain<br />
Hotel, Manama is organised annually<br />
by the British Council, the education<br />
exhibition is expected to attract around<br />
1500 visitors to meet representatives<br />
from 25 UK universities and will be<br />
opened by His Excellency, Her Majesty’s<br />
Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain,<br />
Mr Simon Martin.<br />
EDUKEX is part of the British<br />
Council’s initiative to enhance cultural<br />
and educational relations between<br />
Bahrain and the UK by helping create a<br />
knowledge-based economy. Prospective<br />
students from across Bahrain are invited<br />
to attend EDUKEX to obtain information<br />
from representatives of various<br />
universities and learning institutions<br />
about acquiring UK qualifications.<br />
Alan Rutt, British Council Director,<br />
said: “We are very pleased to welcome<br />
this delegation of British higher<br />
education institutions to Bahrain to<br />
participate in this year’s EDUKEX<br />
exhibition, especially in light of<br />
our Bahrain-UK 200th anniversary<br />
celebrations in <strong>2016</strong>. Bahraini students<br />
and parents will have the opportunity<br />
to explore what UK institutions offer<br />
in the area of higher education and to<br />
get first-hand answers to any questions<br />
they may have about studying there.<br />
I strongly encourage everyone who is<br />
thinking about studying abroad to visit<br />
the exhibition - you will find it a very<br />
worthwhile experience.”<br />
EDUKEX provides students with<br />
the chance to learn more about UK<br />
education opportunities, courses being<br />
offered in the English language, in<br />
vocational skills & knowledge, and in<br />
higher education. There will also be<br />
information about institutions, entry<br />
requirements, visas, and travel. British<br />
Council also plays an important role<br />
in providing opportunities for both<br />
Middle East and UK institutions to<br />
meet potential partners for mutually<br />
beneficial collaboration in transnational<br />
education and research.<br />
The main objective of EDUKEX is<br />
to raise awareness of the quality of UK<br />
education and the extensive choice of<br />
courses and institutions on offer at every<br />
level.<br />
