We look forward to celebrating our Harvest
during the first half of this term when Reverend
Bissett will visit the school.
We have decided follow a Design and
Technology theme for our special curricular
week this term. Everyone is really looking
forward to this as we haven’t explored a design
and technology theme for a while.
Our gardening club is continuing this term
and all the tubs around the school are looking
lovely thanks to the efforts of the staff that
watered them over the summer holiday.
At the time of writing we plan an “Outdoor
Day” in late September when we will learn
outside for the day and utilise our grounds and
woodland to its fullest extent. We hope to get a
short “Indian summer “that week as we are all
really excited about what we can achieve. This
work will support us in our application for
Green Flag status.
We continue our work encouraging children
and parents to walk to school once a week at
least where this is practical as well as our ABC
to Read Reading Mentors scheme to support
the children in school. We will be looking to
train interested parents and grandparents to be
reading mentors this year.
We are already beginning to plan for our
Christmas production and look forward to
performing this before the end of term.
As always we value the support given to our
school by the community and I would like to
invite anyone who has a skill or something they
feel able to offer us in any way to contact me at
the school. We strongly welcome links with you
all and there are many ways you can support us.

The P&TG Village Pre-school
We are pleased to be back for a new term and a
new academic year. This term we welcomed 24
new families. Twelve new children started in the
first week of term and have already settled
beautifully, the remainder were staggered over
subsequent weeks.

Thanks to everyone who sponsored Lesley to
run the London Marathon earlier this year. We
have new furniture on order with the money
raised. In the next edition of VV we will include
photos of our revamped setting.
We have recruited 2 new staff members, both
level 3 qualified.They have made a great start to
the term – welcome Kerri and Sabah.
Bookings are now being taken for September
2018 and beyond – children from 2 years old
are welcome and we are proud to offer the 30
hours free childcare to those who are eligible.

70% of the population belongs to a credit
union. In America and Canada the figure is
around 43%. Credit unions are also growing fast
in the UK, Eastern Europe, and parts of South
